Ask My Photos

Private photo search and cleanup on your iPhone (iOS 17 or later). About the app · Privacy policy · プライバシーポリシー

Which devices does Ask My Photos support?

iPhone, iOS 17 or later.

Does Ask My Photos upload my photos?

No. All photo analysis, cleanup and search run on your iPhone. Your photos, the text found in them and your searches never leave your iPhone, and the app makes no network requests. Ask My Photos collects no data at all.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Ask My Photos doesn't use the internet, so it works the same in airplane mode or with no connection.

Why does it need access to my photos? Can I give limited access?

The app needs to see your photos to analyse, search and clean them up on your iPhone. You can choose full access, or limited access to only the photos you select; with limited access, the app works only with those photos. You can change or revoke access any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > Ask My Photos.

How does deleting photos work? Can I get a photo back?

Ask My Photos never deletes anything on its own. A photo is deleted only after you confirm in the iOS system dialog. Deleted photos go to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app. To recover one, open Photos, go to Albums > Recently Deleted (under Utilities), select the photo and tap Recover. iOS keeps photos there for a limited time before removing them permanently.

How does search work?

Search runs entirely on your iPhone. The app analyses your photos, including the text found in them, on the device, and your search is matched on the device too. Neither your photos nor your search queries are sent anywhere.

How do I report a bug or contact you?

Email support@privaku.com with your iPhone model, iOS version, app version and the steps that cause the problem. Ask My Photos has no crash reporting, so we only learn about problems when you tell us. Please don't send personal photos; a description or a screenshot of the app screen is enough.
