To copy text from a screenshot, run it through OCR (text recognition). This tool runs the open-source Tesseract engine in your browser, so the screenshot is never uploaded, and the language file downloads only once.

Why this runs on your device
Most free online tools upload your file to a server before they process it. Privaku tools do the work inside this browser tab with open-source code, so the file is never sent to us or anyone else. That matters for photos of your home, family, ID documents and bills.

Which languages work?
English, Japanese, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, French and German, plus English mixed with another language.
How accurate is it?
Clear screenshots work best. Photos of paper at an angle or very small text give weaker results, so check numbers before you use them.
Is my file uploaded?
No. It is processed by your browser on your device. You can turn on airplane mode after the page loads and it still works.
How can I check nothing is uploaded?
Open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab and run the tool. No request carries your file.
Is it really free?
